Do I need to sign up before a meeting?

A.A. has no formal membership application. Check the meeting listing for joining instructions, especially for online meetings.

Does it cost anything to attend?

There are no membership dues or fees. Groups may collect voluntary contributions to help with their running costs.

Do I have to speak?

You can introduce yourself if you wish, but you can also listen. Let the person leading the meeting know that you’re new if that feels comfortable.

Can I bring a friend or family member?

Open meetings welcome anyone interested in A.A. Closed meetings are for people who have a drinking problem and want to stop. Check the meeting description before attending.
