People helping one another with a shared problem.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship where people with drinking problems exchange experience and support one another in living without alcohol. Meetings give members a place to listen, share, and learn from others’ recovery.
A shared purpose
Members support their own sobriety and help others who want to stop drinking.
A place to begin
The membership requirement is a desire to stop drinking. There are no membership dues or fees.
A spiritual programme, open to different beliefs.
A.A. is not a religious organisation. Members have varied beliefs, including no religious belief. The programme uses spiritual language, and members approach it through their own understanding.
What A.A. can offer
