If drinking is worrying you, you can start with a few honest questions.
Look at what drinking is doing to your life.
You do not have to settle on a label before asking for help. Think about your own experience: how you drink, what happens afterwards, and whether you can stop when you intend to.
A moment to reflect
These prompts are for private reflection, not a diagnosis or a scored test. You do not need to send us your answers.
- Do your plans to drink less often turn into drinking more?
- Has alcohol affected your relationships, work, studies, or health?
- Have you tried changing your drinking and found it difficult to keep to that change?
- Do you spend time hiding, explaining, or worrying about your drinking?
- Would you like support from people who have faced similar difficulties?
A conversation is a good place to begin.
You are welcome to call the group or attend a meeting and listen. A.A. offers shared experience and support; a healthcare professional can assess alcohol-related health concerns and discuss treatment.
