You can say you are new and begin by listening. You do not need to prepare a speech or have all the answers.
Medical emergencies need medical help.
A.A. is peer support, not an emergency or detox service. If someone is unconscious, has trouble breathing, has a seizure, or is confused or hallucinating after reducing alcohol, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not drive yourself.
If you may be physically dependent on alcohol, seek medical advice before stopping suddenly; withdrawal can be dangerous.
Health information: NHS guidance on alcohol dependence and withdrawal. Emergency number: India’s Emergency Response Support System.
